James Saville, BSc

PhD Candidate

James received his B.Sc. from the University of Victoria in 2018, undertaking a biochemistry degree with focuses in analytical chemistry, proteomics and protein structure/function relationships. He also enrolled in the co-op program with internships at BASF in Germany, Lallemand in Montreal and the Genome BC Proteomics Centre & Wulff Research Group in Victoria. James’ Ph.D. work involves investigating emerging strains of COVID-19 and integrating antibody-based systems into cryo-EM pipelines. In his spare time, James enjoys exploring BC by hiking and biking.

James is supported by the Frederick Banting and Charles Best Canada Graduate Scholarships Doctoral Award (CGS D) from CIHR, the UBC Four Year Doctoral Fellowship (4YF) program, and the President’s Academic Excellence Initiative PhD Award.
