Dhiraj Mannar, BSc

MD/PhD Student

Dhiraj completed a BSc in Honours Biochemistry at UBC in 2019 and is currently enrolled in the UBC MD PhD program. Dhiraj’s undergraduate research spanned the areas of proteomics, infectious diseases, and structural biochemistry. For his PhD, Dhiraj will work with the Subramaniam lab in utilizing cryo-electron microscopy to visualize molecules, viruses and cells with the central goal of accelerating the development of effective therapeutic agents to treat cancer, disorders of the brain and infectious diseases. Outside of research, Dhiraj is an avid musician and enjoys skateboarding.

Dhiraj is supported by the Frederick Banting and Charles Best Canada Graduate Scholarships Master’s (CGS M) award, awarded in 2020. Dhiraj is also supported by a UBC Graduate Scholarship, the Friedman MD/PhD Studentship Award.
